What is an ID Agent?
ID Agents are personal servers that are built to secure our online identity. They have access to verified user data and are capable of unlocking access on behalf of users, manually or in collaboration with LLMs. ID Agents are addressable by any system via DNS and can be integrated in any site or app. An example ID Agent is jane.magicid.cloud.
How are ID Agents different to Identity Wallets?
ID Agents go beyond data storage to being active and autonomous participants in transactions on behalf of their owners. They are scalable reasoning infrastructure used to contextualise → reason → conclude over individuals’ private data. ID Agents enable secure and data-driven collaboration across business ecosystems.
Do I have to bring my users to Magic to create experiences with ID Agents?
No. It’s not necessary to bring your users to Magic.There are various ways to set ID Agents up for your ecosystem. For enterprises, the most common setup is a Private Agent Provider whereby the enterprise is the controller of the ID Agents that it creates for its users.
Does Magic use our customers' data for purposes other than providing ID Agents?
No. Magic was designed to be the least intrusive way to deploy universal identities and private data processing for your users. It’s an entirely new way of interacting with the internet but you can think of the setup like an infrastructure play, not unlike your cloud provider, e.g. AWS or Azure.
